Four Italians and a Dane: wildcards for the 125 race at Mugello

Three riders with World Championship experience will be looking to further their reputations in the Gran Premio Cinzano d´Italia this weekend, in one of the most interesting wildcard entry lists of the season so far. Home rider Mattia Angeloni is the most recognisable name, having contested the whole 2002 season riding a Gilera with Team Italia. Angeloni failed to score any points last year, but will be hoping to finally prove his Grand Prix pedigree riding a Honda.

Fellow Italian teenager Michele Conti finished 22nd at Mugello in 2001, his only GP appearance, but Danish 22 year old Robbin Harms has five appearances to his name, having contested the last four rounds of 1999 (including a points scoring ride at Argentina) and taking 23rd at Brno last year. Harms switched from a Honda to an Aprilia at the start of the season and is riding for the Seedorf Racing team, with whom he was impressive at the recent CEV round at Catalunya where he charged to fifth place after a bad start.

There are two debutantes on the list - Alessio Aldrovandi, who will ride a Malaguti alongside Fabrizio Lai and Julian Simon, and Michele Pirro on an Aprilia.
