> Randy De Puniet, who starts from pole for the third time in 2003, has scored three podium finishes this year which is more than any other rider in the 250cc class.

> De Puniet´s pole position is the 12th consecutive pole for Aprilia riders in the 250cc Grand Prix at Mugello. The pole position time is the fastest ever lap of the Mugello circuit by a 250cc machine, less than one second outside the MotoGP lap record.

> Aprilia riders have won eight consecutive Grand Prix races in the 250cc class. The last non-Aprilia win was Sebastian Porto's victory riding a Yamaha in Rio last year.
