Interesting stats and facts ahead of the 125cc race at the Sachsenring

The top 16 riders on the grid have lapped with one second of the pole position time.

Stefano Perugini starts from pole position for the second successive race. His pole two weeks ago at Donington came almost eight years after his previous pole, at the Brazilian GP in 1995.

Alex De Angelis, who starts from the front row for the sixth time this year, finished second last year in Germany, his best ever Grand Prix result.

Hector Barbera's third place on the grid is his best ever qualifying result in Grand Prix racing. If Barbera does not win in Germany a new record will be set of 16 races without a consecutive winner in the 125cc class.

Steve Jenkner is making his 100th Grand Prix start, all of which have been in the 125cc class. If Jenkner should win he will be the first German rider to win the 125cc race at the Sachsenring since Ernst Degner back in 1961 riding an MZ.

Mirko Giansanti is the only rider in the 125cc class to have scored points at all eight Grand Prix races this year.
