250cc podium perspectives from Rio

Randy De Puniet, 3rd place:

"I am not really satisfied with this third position. It is not good for the Championship and I think I have lost something like nine points to Manuel. The race was difficult. In the beginning I saw that with my bike it was not possible to catch Elias and Poggiali, so I fought with Rolfo and finally took third thanks to Elias crashing out. I am on the podium today but I am still not so happy."

Roby Rolfo, 2nd position:

"The final lap was fantastic and I really enjoyed myself. We were fighting all the way. It was a long race and I really tried at the end to make sure that I beat Randy. We have worked hard all weekend to get the bike right for this circuit because it is a difficult place to find a good set-up and our efforts paid off. I am pleased to have taken second and it is a decent result for the Championship."

Manuel Poggiali, winner:

"It was a very difficult race, especially with the heat but I had a lot of fun and I'm thrilled that I could finally win. There was a time when Toni passed me too aggressively and I was lucky to still be on the bike but afterwards I was able to catch up and put him under some pressure."
