Loris Capirossi: "I would race every Sunday!"

Loris Capirossi this week flies out of Italy for a gruelling three week schedule which takes the riders from Japan to Malaysia and then Australia for a trio of energy-sapping races. However, after a sensational first season with Ducati, the amiable Italian insists the thrill of riding in MotoGP and the incentive of beating Honda, as he did earlier this season at Catalunya, is something he would like to enjoy every weekend of the year.

In this exclusive interview, Capirossi also reveals his thoughts on the recent first tests of the 2004 prototype Desmosedici, and comments on the rivalry between himself and his fellow Italians Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi.

"In the past, normally we have just Honda, but now we also have Ducati, which is getting better. We are working so hard, especially to beat Honda – this is our dream. I think that now it's not really a dream because I already beat them one time, and I think we will have many more opportunities we hope in the last few races and next year also.

"Three races is a lot without stopping, but I don't care, I like to race every Sunday! I like this job, it's great and at this moment I am enjoying racing because the bike's coming better, and this is good."
