Bittersweet test for Bayliss at Brno

Troy Bayliss admitted he couldn't help but feel frustrated after two days of positive tests with the Ducati Desmosedici GP4 at Brno. Bayliss said he was happy to have taken a step forward with the bike after marathon stints totalling 139 laps over the two days, but wished the progress had come sooner.

Wet practice sessions for the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky severely limited set-up work and restricted the Australian to a discreet performance in Sunday's race, crashing out with two laps to go when fighting for 12th place.

"It was a real pity we had such a small amount of time to lap in the dry during the race weekend," commented Bayliss, who clocked a best time of 1'59.145.

"I am sure that things would have gone differently if we had (more time). In these two days of testing we found a set-up that should work well at the circuits from here on to the end of the season.

"I am quite pleased with the way the testing went and with the results we obtained. For sure if the weather had given us a hand on Saturday it would have been better, but now we've got to look forward to the next rounds."
