Hopkins happy to team-up with Vermeulen

John Hopkins lined up alongside new team-mate Chris Vermeulen at the Valencia test in Spain this week and, despite the frustrating weather conditions, expressed his delight at working with the Australian youngster for the first time.

"It was my first test with my new team-mate Chris Vermeulen, who I am really pleased to be working with," said ‘Hopper'. "It was a shame to see Kenny go, but Chris seems like a level-headed guy, he's easy to get along with and it goes without saying that he's going to be giving 110% every time he gets on the bike, which can only be a positive thing for me."

"Our style will be somewhat similar, with him having come from Superbikes, so hopefully we can come up with the same conclusions, have similar set-ups and be able to transfer information to develop the bike. I'll try to help him get up to speed quicker than normal because the sooner he is on the pace then the sooner we can work together on the bike."

"I think Chris was a really good choice on Suzuki's part and I think we'll make a good partnership," concluded the 22 year-old, who will ride for a fourth consecutive season with Suzuki in 2006. Team Suzuki MotoGP will resume testing at the end of the month at Sepang, Malaysia.
