The 19 premier class riders of MotoGP were all on the grid today, albeit sans bikes. The home straight of the Jerez circuit was the scene of the annual photo session.

The event was pencilled in for the Catalunya Test, although due to rainy conditions and the absence of Casey Stoner through injury it was moved to today.

World Champion Valentino Rossi was the centrepiece of the shot, lining up with team-mate Colin Edwards and the Fortuna Honda riders Marco Melandri and Toni Elías. Repsol Honda riders Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa, completed the front row. 250cc

The 26 riders who will make up the 250cc grid took part in their official photo event today, an annual gathering ahead of the first race of the season.

After a slight delay waiting for Hiroshei Aoyama's arrival, with the Japanese rider seated the session commenced. With Alex de Angelis, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso and Hector Barbera all in one place, the quality of the field was apparent for all to see, obvious as well when attention shifted to the Winter's in-form riders Jakub Smrz and Yuki Takahashi.

The enormous 125cc field gathered today for their official photo in Jerez, kitted out in full leathers. Nobody was absent from the event, not even Michele Pirro, who joined the others despite not being able to race on Sunday. Swiss World Champion Thomas Luthi was the centrepiece of the occasion, making his first appearance since fracturing his collarbone.
