Talmacsi leads the way in opening Malaysian session

The 2007 World Champion Gabor Talmacsi was the fastest participant in the first session of the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend.

In some typically hot and humid conditions at Sepang on Friday morning, with the racetrack still drying out after overnight showers, Bancaja Aspar´s recently dethroned World Champion Gabor Talmacsi was the man on the pace in the first 125cc practice run.

Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing´s Stefan Bradl was second quickest, trailing Talmacsi by 0.69s, ahead of Joan Olive (Belson Derbi), Bradley Smith (Polaris World) and Andrea Iannone (I.C. Team) in the top five.

Completing the front ten were Simone Corsi (Jack & Jones WRB), Sandro Cortese (Emmi-Caffe Latte), new World Champion Mike di Meglio (Ajo Motorsport), Danny Webb (Degraaf Grand Prix) and Raffaele de Rosa (Onde 2000 KTM).

There were crashes for Tomoyoshi Koyama and Alex Masbou without consequence, whilst an accident involving Cyril Carrillo and Marc Marquez saw the end of the session delayed as the latter was unable to free himself from his machine and was eventually separated from his KTM and stretchered away for treatment.
