MotoGP teams arriving in Andalusia ahead of weekend

The paddock at the Jerez circuit was filling up steadily on Thursday afternoon as the premier class outfits rolled into town with their new 2009 trucks.

As the MotoGP teams steadily arrived at the Jerez circuit on Thursday, ahead of the weekend’s premier class sessions at the Official MotoGP Test, there were some notable novelties, even before the garages and hospitality facilities had been set up.

Thanks to the renaming of Herve Poncharal’s MotoGP outfit as Monster Yamaha Tech 3 this winter - incorporating their new title sponsors - the team have a new livery this year which will be officially unveiled on Friday. In the mean time the team’s newly painted truck gave a sneak preview of the colours and design which Colin Edwards and James Toseland will sport in '09.

Elsewhere, the 'double-decker' truck of the newly formed Grupo Francisco Hernando Ducati satellite team also caught the eye. Saturday will see the team’s sole rider, MotoGP’s returning star Sete Gibernau, make his preseason comeback from a shoulder injury.
