Fernando Alonso believes a Lorenzo title would go down in history

In an interview with Spanish daily As, two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso confirms he is an avid follower of MotoGP and the Spanish driver thinks that a title win for Jorge Lorenzo this season would be a historical milestone. “Yes, without doubt,” said Alonso, “as it was when Crivillé won the 500cc World title. It’s been 11 years since and we still remember Álex and his achievement. The name ‘Crivi’ will always be there. Winning MotoGP is something that forms part of Spanish sporting history, and Lorenzo is on course to do this very soon.”
