Bradl’s biggest issue still lack of adhesion

Bradl’s biggest issue still lack of adhesion

Stefan Bradl qualified fourth and finished sixth at Silverstone. After the race, the German was quick to point out that a lack of grip was still the chief issue.

Bradl was unable to hide his disappointment, with his LCR Honda MotoGP machine having finished seven seconds behind the GO&FUN Honda Gresini of Alvaro Bautista.

“I feel like we had the same race as at Brno last week because we were facing the same problems,” he explained. “We struggled on the edge of the tyre and with no drive out of the corners; that is a bit disappointing for me because I am really strong under braking.

“We have to analyze why we can do a better speed in the practices on used tyres and not in the race. Of course, we expected a better result, but there’s no time to complain now: we must work harder to find a solution ahead of Misano.”

Bradl remains sixth in the Riders’ Championship, but over the Indianapolis-Brno-Silverstone triple-header has closed in on Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Cal Crutchlow by ten points and is now only 23 points in arrears. At the same time, Bautista is catching Bradl; up to seventh place, the Spaniard - who finished fifth on Sunday - now trails the German by just ten points (the equivalent of a single sixth place race finish).
