Aleix Espargaro looks forward to new season with Suzuki

Speaking to last weekend at the GSeries event in Andorra which he attended with his brother and fellow MotoGP™ star Pol Espargaro, the older of the two siblings Aleix Espargaro looked ahead to the exciting challenge of the new season with Suzuki.

As the Japanese factory prepares for its return to premier class Grand Prix racing this year by working hard on their technical package over the winter Espargaro has also been preparing for the new season, recovering quickly from a knee ligament injury sustained in private training during the December-January testing ban.

On his fitness status he commented, “Let’s say that I’m already perfect but I only started training ten days ago, so I will arrive a little bit on the limit of my fitness for the first test, but there are two months until the first race so we have time to improve. So I hope I will arrive at Qatar in the best of conditions.”

“It is also really important to work with the bike a lot, we have a lot of work ahead of us, so I am training as well as I can to be ready for the tests.”

On Suzuki’s progress he said, “It’s not going to be easy and we knew that because the first tests last year were not so easy. We know our problems and what direction to go in perfectly. I know that in Japan at Hamamatsu they have been working really hard over the last months to improve the engine because we need a lot more power and more the durability. I think we have a couple of things to try in Malaysia and then in Qatar the most important parts will arrive.”
