Scott Redding: “I’m happy with today”

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Scott Redding said he was happy after finishing in the top ten after day one of the Qatar test.

The 22-year-old Briton ended the day with a 1’56.112 just 0.847s off the fastest time set by Andrea Iannone and only just over half a second behind reigning MotoGP World Champion, Marc Marquez.

Scott Redding:
“I’m happy with today, mainly because we didn’t really change much on the bike at all, other then throwing tyres and fuel into it. I felt comfortable on the bike from the start today and that helped to build my confidence, which is the most important thing. I’m going faster, closing on the guys at the top of the timesheet, so we’re coming across things that we can improve with the bike. Even so, I still feel I’ve got a few tenths in my pocket, especially as we spent today on the harder tyre. We won’t make any big changes for tomorrow, other than to try a couple of setting changes so Chris and me can see how the bike reacts. Overall today has been a pretty solid start to the test.”
