Rins: “I lacked a bit of aggression"

Rins: “I lacked a bit of aggression'

Alex Rins had an excellent debut in the Moto2™ class in Qatar, finishing in 4th, missing out on a podium by just 0.1s.

After getting the ninth fastest time in the qualifying session on Saturday, Rins started from the third row of the grid. After making a good start, the Paginas Amarillas HP40 rider made contact with another bike and dropped down to 20th, before fighting his way back into forth and challenging for the podium right at the end. In fact he only just missed out on his first ever Moto2™ podium, as he was beaten to the line by just one-tenth of a second by Thomas Luthi.

Rins Reaction
"I'm super happy with this fourth. Perhaps I lacked a bit of aggression at the beginning of the race. In the first corner I tried to put myself in a good position but I have touched and almost fell. Then I knew I had more pace than the others and I started to make my way through the field. At the end I lacked time to think where I could overtake Luthi. I opted to pass on the straight but in the end I could not. In any case I am very happy and very motivated for the next races. "
