After starring on the opening night at Losail, Pecco Bagnaia is determined to score the podium finish he so narrowly missed out on.
Pecco Bagnaia was one of the nine Moto3™ riders fighting for the win at Losail. The MAPFRE Team Mahindra rider took his turn at the front of a combative lead group and was fully deserving of a podium to show for his efforts, only to be denied by contact with another rider on the final lap. The Italian youngster is determined to put that disappointment behind him this weekend and score a first career podium in just his second outing with the team.
“COTA is not a track that really suits my style but with the Mahindra anything is possible, so I am feeling very motivated for this race. It is a spectacular bike with a chassis that handles superbly, which allows me to do a lot of things. I can brake where I want to and still hold a perfect line, so even though it is not my favourite track I go there feeling confident that we can do a great job. We travel to Austin in high spirits after our excellent performance in the first race of the season. We have the potential to achieve great results and we are going to work hard to fulfil it. We have taken a very positive direction with our work since preseason and we will pick up this weekend where we left off in Qatar”.
