Lowes dominant in Moto2™ FP2 before huge crash

British rider Sam Lowes set the fastest time of the day during a dry FP2 despite a huge highside towards the end of the session.

The Moto2™ paddock took full advantage of a dry track during FP2 to set the fastest times of the day by far, before a number of riders crashed with only a few minutes left in the session.

Speed Up Racing’s Lowes was leading the timesheets with only a few minutes to go when he had a horrific highside, adding to his crash earlier this morning, and although the rider managed to walk away from the incident it looks as though he will be battered and bruised for the rest of the weekend.

Lowes finished with a 2’10.563, ahead of Ajo Motorsports Johann Zarco (+0.096s) and the reigning Moto2™ Champion Tito Rabat on the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex (+0.375s) who also crashed out towards the end of the session, escaping unhurt.

Anthony West (+0.498s) on the QMMF Racing Team Speed Up bike finished in 4th, in front of Athina Forward Racing's Simone Corsi (+0.838s) and his teammate Julian Simon (+0.905s) in 6th.
