Danny Kent was unstoppable today as he smashed the lap record at the Circuit of The Americas several times and stormed to pole position.
It seems like it is the weekend for young Briton Danny Kent, who displayed an outstanding performance during all Free Practice sessions as well in this afternoon’s qualifying practice for tomorrow’s Moto3™ Grand Prix of The Americas.
Kent was strong in the rain yesterday morning but also in dry condition he showed clearly that he was the man to beat. This morning he already lapped the 5.5 km track within the lap record before Kent dominated the timed session for the grid positions from the very first moment.
“Honestly speaking, it feels good to be back on pole but most important will be tomorrow’s race, because the points will be given there. Nevertheless it is a great weekend so far for us because we’ve been strong in the rain and we were also fast in dry conditions. So from this point of view we can expect a good race tomorrow, but the gap between me and the second placed rider on the grid isn’t that big so you never know what can happen in the race. A big thanks to the team for the outstanding job they did, but also to HRC, to all sponsors and to my family. We are all working really well together and it’s paying off, I’m really happy. So the goal for tomorrow is to round up this weekend with a strong result.”
