Marquez Blog: To Jerez with excitement

In his official blog for repsol.com the reigning MotoGP™ World Champion Marc Marquez looks ahead to the #SpanishGP:

Howdy friends,

I’m writing to you just hours before traveling to one of this year’s most exciting Grand Prix for us, one of four that we race at home during the year.

We’re coming back from three races far from Europe, with long trips, little rest… also, the beginning of the World Championship made it clear that it’s going to be a rousing one, and one that is going demand 200% from us in each GP.

As you know, I fell during training last week and had the misfortune of breaking the little finger of my left hand. These things happen, we just have to deal with it.

What’s important is that the operation went well and after the medical check this morning, I’ll be able to go to Jerez, which is what really matters to me, especially as it is a Grand Prix in which I can race in front of many of you. It’s always an especially thrilling weekend.

Also, on Thursday we can attend the presentation of a photography exhibition right in Jerez, covering the many years of Repsol’s participation in motor competitions. It will be a moment of pride for my to be there and open the exhibition!

Before saying goodbye I wanted to dedicate some words of encouragement and consolation to the family of Joan Moreta, who passed away a few days ago. He was a person who dedicated his life to motorsports and was very important in my start in this world. We’ll always remember you.

Question of the week:

What athlete do you admire most and why? From Berylene Jooste

Hey, Berylene Jooste!
The athlete I admire most is Rafa Nadal, for his physical and mental strength, in addition to being a role model for everyone.

Regards,

Marc.
