Melandri: “I see the glass as half full”

Melandri: “I see the glass as half full”

The post race Barcelona test has boosted the confidence of Aprilia’s Marco Melandri, as the Italian hunts for his first points.

2015 has so far been a difficult season for Melandri as he relearns the Bridgestone tyres and helps to develop Aprilia’s MotoGP™ machine. Fortunately the post race test in Barcelona allowed Melandri and the team to improve in several key areas after teammate Alvaro Bautista achieved his first top ten finish of the season.

Melandri last raced a MotoGP™ machine at Assen in 2009 where he finished in 11th. Despite participating in the 2010 MotoGP™ season, Melandri missed the race in Assen due to a dislocated left shoulder sustained in practice.

Marco Melandri: “We are going to Assen with a bit of concrete optimism. In the Barcelona tests the team provided me with a much longer swing arm that gave me a better feeling. I only did two laps because then it began to rain but I noticed that the feeling was good. I like this track and I'm confident that we'll be taking some steps forward. Alvaro's result gave the team a strong signal of reliability. I see the glass as half full.”
