Oliveira: “I think we will go well”

Assen was the sight of Miguel Oliveira’s first ever pole position in the Moto3™ championship; he aims to repeat this performance in 2015.

The Portuguese rider was unlucky in the last lap shuffle of the Catalan GP, just missing out on another trip to the podium. Both the Red Bull KTM Ajo team and Oliveira have had success in the past at Assen, Oliveira claiming third in the race last year and the Ajo team winning the race in 2013.

The flat nature of the Dutch track should suit the KTM more than the bumpy Barcelona circuit. KTM have also overcome their slight disadvantage from the beginning of the season, now on an almost level playing field to Honda in Moto3™.

Miguel Oliveira: "I am very confident about this weekend. I really like the track and I think we will go well, because it is perfectly suited to our bike. Assen is not as bumpy a circuit as Barcelona-Catalunya, so this is something that favours us. It is also a very flat track, which has many cambers in the corners. This, together with the grip level of the asphalt, will help us with turning the bike in."
