Rabat lays down marker for race in Moto2™ FP3

Reigning Moto2™ World Champion Tito Rabat sets the fastest time so far to dominate FP3 and finish on top of the timesheets.

Estrella Galicia’s Rabat set his best time of the session on his last lap, his 18th on a set of medium tyres, as he showed an incredible race pace ahead of Qualifying. The Spaniard had improved from eighth after the first two Free Practice sessions, and was 0.228s ahead of second-placed Xavier Simeon on the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex.

Ajo Motorsport’s current championship leader Johann Zarco (+0.464s) finished in third, just ahead of Simone Corsi on the Athina Forward Racing Kalex. Derendinger Racing Interwetten’s Thomas Luthi (+0584s) set the fifth fastest time, with Sam Lowes (+0.614s) on the Speed Up racing bike in sixth.

Jonas Folger (AGR Team) was in seventh, ahead of the two Paginas Amarillas HP40 bikes of Luis Salom (8th) and Alex Rins (9th), with Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) completing the top ten.
