Masbou: “We’re still struggling with two big problems”

Masbou: “We’re still struggling with two big problems”

A change in fortune for the Alexis Masbou, the French rider having struggled to score since his win in Qatar.

A third place finish on Friday was a welcome return to the front of the field for Alexis Masbou (SAXOPRINT-RTG). Both he and McPhee have had massive problems since the start of the year as they feel the negative effects of limited winter testing. Masbou was able to make a breakthrough in Assen and make a large step forward, carrying there momentum to Germany. The GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland is an important race for Masbou as it is his team’s home race, their workshop located locally.

Alexis Masbou: “Yes, we make a good step in Assen and we were closer to the front than the last few races. This weekend we start with the same setting and I had a lot more confidence and a good feeling. There’s still some small problems to fix and areas to improve but I think we can find solutions and keep improving. It’s been too long since we started like this. We’re still struggling with two big problems and we’re struggling to find solutions. In braking the bike isn’t too stable and in acceleration we’re not turning enough. We’re working and feeling the improvements, if we an make another step we’ll be there.”
