Lowes: “It was cool to get back on the bike”

Sam Lowes loved getting back on his Speed Up Racing machine on Friday despite suffering with a sore throat and fever.

The British rider who is third in the Moto2™ World Championship standings ended the day second fastest overall, 0.328s behind Tito Rabat. Lowes was not feeling 100% and hopes to improve as the weekend goes on, therefore he was pleased with his performance.

Sam Lowes: “Happy with today! I feel good as I was feeling poorly last night and had to spend 12 hours in bed, then today I had a big sore throat and fever so I was little tired on the bike. Hopefully the Clinica Mobile can help a little, those guys are always on it. I am happy as this wasn't my best track last season and after few weeks off, where I rode nothing during the summer break, it was cool to get back on the bike and be consistently fast in both sessions and end up second overall. Rabat looked strong which is normal on the first day and I will improve tomorrow! I am just really happy to be back on track!”
