Smith: “Fatigue is not an issue”

A hectic race schedule doesn’t have Smith worrying as the MotoGP™ paddock head to the bwin Grand Prix České republiky.

Another finish as top satellite rider has Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) confident of continued success in Brno. 2015 has seen the British rider surprise many, turning around his fortunes and become the dominating force outside of the factory riders. A stellar sixth at the Indianapolis Grand Prix came after Smith won the Suzuka 8 Hour endurance race, famous for being one of the most physically demanding races in the world. However, Smith does not feel fatigue will come into play at Brno.

A strong base setting for his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 M1 has given Smith a significant boost at each round, able to quickly get up to a competitive speed. After the race there will also be a single test day, allowing all riders to test settings they would not be able to under the normal frantic schedule of a Grand Prix weekend. At current Bradley Smith is without a contract for 2016, he found himself in a similar situation heading to Brno last year.

Bradley Smith: “Next up is the Czech Grand Prix at Brno, which is a circuit that I enjoy racing on. The big hills and undulating corners are good fun to ride on the Yamaha and I think we can do a thorough job there this weekend. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks going from the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan, to Indianapolis and then straight to Brno, but fatigue is not an issue and I’m excited to put on a great show for the fans that come to the race. As always our plan is to get up to speed as soon as possible. The base setting that we have has been strong at every GP so far this year and with any luck that will be the same case at Brno. Nevertheless, there will be work to do but I am going to push as hard as possible so that I can hopefully cross the line as the leading satellite rider again. After the race we have a test day and then I will begin focusing on the next GP which is my home Grand Prix at Silverstone and it is definitely one of the highlights of my year."
