With a strong points haul in Brno, Marc Marquez is ready to recommence battle at the Octo British Grand Prix.
In 2013 the British Grand Prix produced a stunning race between Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo on the Movistar Yamaha, the pair bashing fairings to the line. Marquez is no stranger to battles at Silverstone, having several memorable ones with Scott Redding in their Moto2™ days as well. Since 2010, Marquez has claimed four podiums including two wins at Silverstone. Last year saw him win the MotoGP™ race, bouncing back from a difficult race weekend in Brno that ended his winning streak.
Now in 2015 Marquez heads to Silverstone in a very different position, he sits third in the championship with only an outside chance of claiming the MotoGP™ title. As a result he has nothing to lose and will be going out to win at all costs. To be in contention for the win, a strong start is vital as Lorenzo proved he is almost impossible to catch with open track in front of him.
Marc Marquez: “Brno was a difficult weekend but we took important points in the Championship and keep fighting! Silverstone isn’t one of my favourite tracks but I enjoy going there as you can feel the excitement and the history that surrounds the circuit and the area as a whole. I’ve been on the podium there the past three years including a win last year, so let’s hope the weather is good to us and we can fight for a similar result this year."
