Jonas Folger joins Dynavolt Intact GP in 2016

Jonas Folger joins Dynavolt Intact GP in 2016

Dynavolt Intact GP announce that the team will contest the 2016 Moto2 World Championship as a two-rider team.

The Bavarian team are currently participating in Moto2™ for the third year, with Sandro Cortese competing as a lone fighter and they have become an established name in the Moto2™ class.

From 2016 "Intact GP" will have Jonas Folger as the second rider in the team as they look to expand their efforts. He joined the Moto2™ World Championship in 2014 and achieved two podium positions (third in Jerez and in Mugello) during his rookie season. Additionally, he achievied pole position at the Le Mans Grand Prix. This year he has already secured two victories in Qatar and in Jerez.

The team from Memmingen is happy to welcome the 22 year-old as the second rider next to Sandro Cortese.

Jürgen Lingg, Team Manager and Technical Director: "We are really pleased that Jonas is joining our team. He certainly is one of the biggest talents in motorsports right now. This will be the first restructuring exercise for the Intact GP team since it was founded and I am really looking forward to that challenge. We will do our very best to provide both, Sandro and Jonas, with a working environment that will help them to succeed in the championship."

Team Partner Stefan Keckeisen: "Despite his young age of 22 years Jonas has a lot of experience to show for, having already won two races this year. I am convinced that this new constellation will help our team to develop its success further. With Jonas we will have another very strong rider next to Sandro and both riders will spur each other on. I am really proud that Jonas has chosen Intact GP - we value and respect that! We are looking forward to what will hopefully be a successful collaboration."

Sandro Cortese:
"Next year will put the team in a new situation, which is very positive. I think a big change like this will be good for all of us. It will be of benefit for everyone to have Jonas in the team. We are both at a good level right now and can push each other. If we both reach the front in the end, everything will be fine."

Intact GP are excited about the 2016 season with the new double German rider line up. The last time a German two-rider team competed in the intermediate World Championship class was in 1996 with Ralf Waldmann and Jürgen Fuchs in the HB Honda Team.
