Espargaro: “I will definitely try my very best”

Disappointment at the British GP hasn’t impacted Espargaro’s confidence ahead of the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Rivie di Rimini.

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli plays host to round 13 of the MotoGP™ World Championship and Pol Espargaro is out to bounce back from a hugely disappointing DNF at Silverstone. Tricky conditions saw the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider fall at the British GP, an unfortunate end to what had been a promising race. Pol Espargaro remains optimistic however, and is confident that he can return to battling for the honour of top satellite rider.

During the off season the Misano circuit underwent a full resurfacing and both teams and riders are still unsure of how it will affect tyre life over race distance.  Misano has seen the youngest Espargaro do well in the past, achieving victory in 2013 from pole in the Moto2™ class. The 2015 season has seen Espargaro fail to finish on three occasions, leaving him with 81 points in the MotoGP™ World Championship and sitting ninth overall. It has been a difficult sophomore year in MotoGP™ for Espargaro who now aims to end 2015 with a run of strong results before the new challenges of 2016.

Pol Espargaro: “It's time to head to San Marino for the 13th round of the 2015 MotoGP world championship and I am confident as well as excited about throwing my leg over the Yamaha and getting things underway there. The track is one that I like as it suits the style of the M1, which was strong there last year. In addition, I have had some competitive performances in the past, including winning the Moto2 race from pole in 2013. This motivates me highly for the weekend and I am fired up and ready to fight. We certainly made some steps forward at the previous GP and despite the unfortunate DNF, I am sure we can carry the positives over to San Marino. I will definitely try my very best as I aim to get into the top six and beat my teammate. I can't wait to get the show on the road and make the Italian fans cheer! ”
