Kornfeil: “We are coming stronger and stronger”

Kornfeil: “We are coming stronger and stronger”

Fresh off his debut podium, Jakub Kornfeil carries his confidence to the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

The British GP saw Drive M7 SIC’s Jakub Kornfeil claim his debut podium in the World Championship. Since joining the championship full time in 2010, Kornfeil has had many strong rides but his podium quest has always fallen short. A wet British GP allowed the Czech rider to fulfil on the promise he had shown on so many previous occasions, securing second. This has given Kornfeil and his Drive M7 SIC a much needed boost in confidence after a tricky start to the season.

Misano presents a new challenge for Kornfeil and all of the Moto3™ World Championship riders as it has been recently resurfaced. The Misano GP weekend in 2014 saw a plethora of riders crash, one of the many reasons the circuit has been resurfaced. None of the Moto3™ have yet to sample the new surface, though times from MotoGP™ tests suggests that lap records will fall quickly.

Jakub Kornfeil: “I feel very good right now, so I’m really looking forward to Misano. After the last GP I’m excited to race again. The track is quite small with many different corners; I wouldn’t say it was my favourite but I do like the layout. I’m feeling very positive. My bike feels very good, so I think the KTM can be up there and maybe it will work even better at Misano. The first sector is always difficult for me, so for sure I will have to work on this, but anyway I think we have a strong package with the team and the bike, so I’m looking forward to the weekend. We are coming stronger and stronger all the time so we will see after FP1 where we are and as always we will work from there. We know what our target is and this is what we will focus on. I believe we can do well.”
