Lowes: “Really happy with the opening day!”

Lowes: “Really happy with the opening day!”

Sam Lowes cannot hide his delight after improving from 14th in FP1 to finish Friday’s practice in fourth at the San Marino GP.

Lowes could only manage a 1’38.579 in the morning session but managed to improve by almost a second in FP2 to set a 1’37.630 to end the day on fourth. The Brit is just 0.173s off the pace of Tito Rabat (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) at the top of the timesheets and will be hoping to make it consecutive pole positions after he started from the front row at Silverstone.

Sam Lowes: “Really happy with the opening day! We have made a big step compared to how I was last year at this track and I felt good today. We have some things to improve on with the team in the morning and also some things from me, so we hope for good things tomorrow.”
