Rabat: “I wasn’t quite fast enough”

Rabat: “I wasn’t quite fast enough”

Tito Rabat content with his front row start at the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing’s will start Sunday’s San Marino GP from third, aiming for back-to-back wins in Misano. Rabat was just 0.1s from pole position, the top three in the Moto2™ World Championship a level above the rest in Misano. Rabat, Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) and Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) have all stood on the podium in the last two races and times suggest that it will be the front three battling for victory, but with the likes of Simone Corsi (Forward Racing) starting just behind much is still uncertain.

With hope of obtaining the 2015 Moto2™ World Championship almost completely gone, Rabat has turned his attention to securing second in the intermediate category. Rins sits just three points ahead and finishing on the podium but ahead of the rookie Spaniard will ensure Rabat returns to second overall.

Tito Rabat: “I pushed at 100% but at the end I wasn’t quite fast enough to take pole. I can improve and we have a good pace for the race and this is most important. It looks like being a close race based on the times and I am looking forward to a big fight. It would be great to repeat the win of last year but it is going to be incredibly difficult.”
