In his latest official blog for boxrepsol.com Marc looks back on an amazing Australian GP that saw him take his 50th GP victory:

Hi everyone!

What a week we’ve had in Australia!

We arrived Melbourne, and later to the island, ready to make up for the results from the Japan Grand Prix, and we felt positive since Friday. In fact, these feelings have been getting stronger.

The pre-event was really cool on Wednesday, before the GP; we were in rowing boats on the Yarra river with other riders. It was a great experience!

One of the things that is really great about the Phillip Island Circuit is that you can go to the beach to run, because our hotel is right on it. That’s exactly what we decided to do when we arrived on the island on the Wednesday, as we didn’t have to go to the circuit yet

You already know that I like this circuit a lot; it’s one of the most beautiful in the World Championship. Watching the race of Moto3™, I was quite jealous to see how spectacular it was with so many bikes passing one another over and over again. What I didn’t expect was that we would later have a similar experience in MotoGP™!

Iannone, Rossi, and Lorenzo were incredible. It was a great race from the first lap. Reaching my 50th victory in a GP like this one, especially on one of my favourite circuits, made it all the more special. The only thing that saddened me a bit was that we are no longer fighting for the title, which is what counts in this sport. However, at this point in the season the most important thing is to continue working and fighting for the win whenever we can.

I’d like to dedicate this victory to my fan club. To travel to the other side of the world, literally the furthest place from home, and see them there to support me in another GP is indescribable.

We are now in Malaysia. These days we will be training in the hotel gym; physical recovery is key to take on the Grand Prix, as we are undoubtedly in one of the most demanding periods of our calendar.

By the way, one more thing before I sign off. My colleagues at Repsol are compiling the names of followers of our team, so that they will appear on a special panel on the box in Cheste, so if you still haven’t left your name I encourage you to do so. You still can!

Question of the week:
Who do you want to win the World Championship? Stick your neck out, Marc! Question from Ainhoa Molina

Hi Ainhoa,
To be honest with you, I want the best to win, nothing more. If one of my teammates was in the running it would be different, because I would prefer for him to win, but as the contenders are two riders from another team, I’m indifferent and wish them both the best. May the best man win!

Best wishes,

Marc
