De Angelis Interview: “I am smiling!”

De Angelis Interview: “I am smiling!”

Alex De Angelis chatted to motogp.com ahead of the Valencia GP to give an update on his recovery from injury.

E-Motion IodaRacing’s De Angelis updated motogp.com on his recovery from the injuries he sustained at the Japanese GP:

It is great to see you here in Valencia Alex, how are you feeling?
“I am smiling, so when someone is smiling it means it is not as really bad as maybe we could think about me in the very beginning. I came to Valencia for this reason, to show you and all the people that work with me, and everyone that knows me, that I am much much better than the people were thinking about me in the beginning. Of course it is nice to be here, but I would prefer to be riding not like a holiday!”

It is incredible to see how fast you have recovered!
“The doctor said the same! Even the doctors were really surprised by my ability to get well so soon. It is better like this. It is still difficult for me to sleep well as it is not easy to find a good position as I have so many fractures, but it is nice to see that I can work without any problem. Every morning I do one hour on a bicycle, which is really incredible after only three weeks. So it means I can ride a bike quite early.”

So what’s next in the rehab process?
“At the moment I am just working on the bike. Next week when I go home, I will start to go every day to the swimming pool to move my whole body and back. I think in one month I can return to my normal life.”
