Hernandez: “I like the new electronics”

Yonny Hernandez prefers the 2016 electronic setup to the old Open version as he gets a three-day test at Jerez underway on Wednesday.

It was a late start for the Aspar MotoGP rider as he only took to the track after 2pm with the aim to establish a base setup on his Ducati GP14.2 with the new electronics and tyre packages for 2016. Despite not completing many laps at the Circuito de Jerez, due to an exhaust issue late on in the day, the Colombian was happy with his work and was able to compare the new 2016 electronics compared to the 2015 Open version he tested at Valencia.

Yonny Hernandez: “Today we got our first chance to run the new electronics and we focused on finding an initial setting. I like the new electronics more than the Open version. The base is quite similar to what I used last season. At the end of the day we had a problem with the exhaust and we couldn't push that little bit harder but in general the feeling was very positive, even more so than Valencia. My feeling with the Michelin tyres is also improving every time I go out on track. I am happy with the initial work we have done here at Jerez, I think we are on the right lines and I hope we can continue to improve our pace and feeling tomorrow.”
