Bastianini: “I had a slight crash”

A crash and high winds limit progress for Enea Bastianini and his Gresini Racing Team Moto3 during their first test of 2016.

Two days of private testing came to a close at the Valencia circuit for Enea Bastianini and the Gresini Racing Team Moto3 with valuable data collected. As the first day was hit in the afternoon by a rain shower, Bastianini was eager to make the most of Friday and completed 49 laps despite a small crash at Turn 4. The Italian was unhurt and was able to quickly return to the track after minor repairs. The two days saw the team make significant progress with the setting of the bike on used tyres. February 23rd and 24th will be the next occasion that the Gresini team are on track.

Enea Bastianini: “This morning things went pretty well, then I had a slight crash and in the afternoon the strong wind slowed us a bit. We worked on the bike set-up, but with the wind it was definitely not easy to assess the behaviour of the bike, so we preferred to make not too many changes. There are still a few days of testing scheduled, so we have time to work. I’m satisfied because we are already very fast on used tyres, but we will try to improve our performance when we put the new ones”.
