Zarco: “The team told me that I had a good pace”

Reining Moto2™ World Champion Johann Zarco gets back on track after the Winter break in Valencia.

After the two-month break of the winter period, Johann Zarco and his Ajo Motorsport were reunited at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia for a two-day test. Although Zarco remains on the Kalex in 2016, many aspects of the bike have been altered and these two days were critical for adapting to the new bike as well as getting back into the rhythm of riding. Rainy and windy conditions on Thursday limited testing, but Zarco was pleased with the progress overall. The Frenchman set 132 laps across the two days and spent five hours on Friday exploring the new 2016 Kalex.

Johann Zarco: “These two days of testing at Valencia have gone very well. Firstly, I was very happy to see my team again and sense the atmosphere of wanting to work hard. Things went well for us from Thursday, as we were able to test things with different aspects of this new bike. From a technical point of view, these days are very important for analysing my weaknesses from last year and working on them. The team told me that I had a good pace and the work has been positive. Today we worked for longer, without stopping, and also set a good lap time. We end the first days of testing with a smile, as it seems that everything is working well and we are on the right track. We will continue to work relentlessly, which is the most important thing at this time of the season."
