Brad Binder able to verify settings found in Valencia during a second private test, despite bad conditions.
Red Bull KTM Ajo were one of several teams that headed to the Jerez circuit after finishing work in Valencia. Brad Binder was a chief protagonist of the private Valencia test and was eager to confirm information gained, sadly weather conditions on Sunday meant that the trip to Jerez would be a one day affair. Although the surface of the track was still slippery from Sunday rain, the South African completed 62 laps as he focused on longer runs and avoiding a crash. Binder and his KTM will be reunited in a fortnight’s time for the first official test of the season in Jerez from the second of March.
Brad Binder: “It was difficult to go fast early in the day, but we were able to confirm some things that we had seen at the Valencia test. This is very positive, because it allows us to have options to change how we set up the rear shock. We have seen that one way works well when the track conditions are good, but the other is better when there is not as much grip. Today's conditions were not very good, it was very windy and the asphalt was slippery, but the times we set were very good, so I'm very happy with the results."
