Even with only one day on track, Jonas Folger leaves private testing in Jerez with the feeling of a job well done.
With Sunday at the Jerez circuit called off due to weather, Jonas Folger focused on finding consistency on Monday with a long run of 20 straight laps. Aside from this run the new Dynavolt Intact GP rider completed an additional 57, for a total of 77 circulations of the 4.4km long Jerez circuit. Folger has had great success in the past at Jerez de la Frontera, having claimed four podiums including a win during his Grand Prix career. Aside from consistency on long run, experimentation with suspension settings was another area of focus for Folger.
Jonas Folger: “Even though we only had one test day it was surprisingly positive for us. From the start I was able to adjust to the track easily and without any significant problems. Therefore we were able to start with the set up work straight away. I was able to test my limits very quickly and knew exactly what I needed. We experimented a little with the Öhlins fork and with some of the new Kalex parts, which was a huge step forward for the front feeling. Today’s focus was definitely on the front of the bike. During the long run at the end I was able to deliver a constant performance and was always very close to my fastest lap time. It was a very successful test and we are very, very happy."
