Rabat: “Today has been another day of learning”

Rabat: “Today has been another day of learning”

Over 80 laps of learning for Tito Rabat in Australia, closing the gap to the leading riders.

Ever improving conditions granted MotoGP™ World Championship rookie Tito Rabat valuable track time on his Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS machine. Intermittent rain made it a slow start to the second day but once the conditions were suitable Rabat got to work and completed 81 laps, the second most of any rider on Thursday. On his final lap the rookie improved to a 1’30.650, putting him 19th but only 1.5 seconds back on the fastest time of the day. While the position may not present progress the distance to the front certainly does and Rabat is eager to return to work on Friday.

Tito Rabat: “Today we’re closer to the front guys. This morning the gap was too big but we’ve managed to close it a little and we will look to close it some more tomorrow. Today has been another day of learning; learning the bike, learning the tyres and learning the track on a bike that has far more power than I’m used to. Tomorrow I want to continue to work on my riding style as I adapt to the Honda RC213V, so hopefully we’ll have similar weather to today.”
