Espargaro: “I’ve found my joy for riding again”

Espargaro: “I’ve found my joy for riding again”

Aleix Espargaro has gone from strength to strength in recent rounds and has once again found his love for racing.

The 2015 Italian GP was a difficult one for Espargaro who started in fifth, despite going through Q1, but crashed out of the race when he came into contact with another rider. These bad memories are banished to the back of Espargaro’s mind, the Spaniard arriving in Mugello with his passion for racing back after a run of three top six finishes. In France Maverick Viñales proved that the GSX-RR is capable of finishing on the podium, Aleix Espargaro hungrier than ever to get himself back on the podium. Both he and Suzuki are stronger than ever, no longer having to worry about a serious lack of engine power as the upgrades and enhancements continue to flow. Regardless of the final result, Mugello remains a favourite track for the Team Suzuki Ecstar man who is eager to get out and ride the rollercoaster circuit.

Aleix Espargaro: “Mugello is a very fast track were we can exploit some positives with our GSX-RR, therefore I’m curious to get there soon. Last year we arrived here with some worries because we lacked in engine power, but this year the situation is different and we can count on more efficiency. Recently we have been making many steps forward, we’re finding good solutions for the set-up and my positive feeling has increased a lot. I’ve found my joy for riding again. In France we couldn’t finalise a good result because I lacked in feeling with the front tyre, but the improvements we did were very positive. Mugello will be fun, there is always a lot of people there and you can feel their passion.”
