Schrötter sets Silverstone pace on Saturday morning

Friday’s quickest man continued to dominate Free Practice at the British GP with Marquez and Navarro P2 and P3 ahead of qualifying

Marcel Schrötter (Dynavolt Intact GP) continued to set the pace at the GoPro British Grand Prix as the German rider topped FP3, improving his Friday lap time to set a 2:08.182 to lead the Moto2™ field into qualifying. Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) was second quickest, 0.167 off P1, with Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) continuing his good run of form to end Free Practice at Silverstone in P3 despite a late crash at Turn 1 – rider ok.

Luca Marini (SKY Racing Team VR46) set the fourth fastest time on board his Kalex machine, 0.295 back from Schrötter, with Fabio Quartararo (+ Ego Speed Up Racing) a further 0.025 behind in fifth. Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) remains sixth fastest after failing to improve on his Friday time, with home hero Sam Lowes (Swiss Innovative Investors) seventh and Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46) eighth – title rival Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) finds himself P14 ahead of qualifying.

Khairul Idham Pawi (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), Joan Mir (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) and British wildcard Josh Owens (Tickhill Labour and Plant) crashed – riders ok.

The intermediate class fight for pole at 15:05 local time (GMT +1).
