Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) topped FP4 at the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix after setting the fastest time of 2:00.083, beating Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) by 0.109 but there was drama for the latter as he crashed at Turn 11 as sudden rain fell at the Sepang International Circuit.

Jordi Torres (Reale Avintia Racing) - who headed to the medical centre - also crashed at Turn 11 as the riders hit a damp track on slick tyres, with Karel Abraham (Angel Nieto Team) suffering the same fate as the Spanish duo – the Czech rider crashing at Turn 5.
P3 on the timesheets was Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and it was the Italian who led the rest of the field out of pitlane as most of the riders got some valuable wet track time under their belts ahead of qualifying.
