Bagnaia eyes Martin & Marquez title fight: "We're the most complete riders"

The World Champion is gearing up for a scrap with last year's runner-up and the eight-time World Champion

They're the big three that got tongues wagging in Le Mans: Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. The reigning, defending MotoGP™ World Champion, the man who narrowly missed out on a first premier class crown last year and the eight-time King looking to reclaim his throne. And the #1 believes it'll be those three fighting it out for the 2024 title from now until Valencia.

As we've reached the quarter stage of this scintillating MotoGP™ World Championship fight, the contenders for the crown are now starting to become clearer. Prima Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin leads the way with a commanding 129 points - 49 better off than at this stage last year. Despite closing the gap at Jerez, Ducati Lenovo Team's Bagnaia now finds himself 38 adrift in second ahead of a massive week with back-to-back rounds in Barcelona and Mugello.

Plus, for the first time in five years, Gresini Racing's Marc Marquez is well and truly in the hunt for a MotoGP™ title again. The Spaniard is only two points behind Bagnaia thanks to that clutch last lap move on the World Champion at the French Grand Prix.

They shared the podium in Le Mans, they now occupy the top three spots in the standings, and Bagnaia is convinced it'll be all about the #1, the #89 and the #93 this year: "For me, at the moment, we are the three most complete riders in the championship.

"Other riders are fast enough to have a great performance and can win races. But I think in terms of speed and consistency, Jorge more, but in terms of consistency we are the most complete riders. Without Jorge's crash at Jerez, I think it would have been the same result as here, the same guys fighting for the win. I think for the championship, it will be more or less like this."
