Angel Nieto Team close to a renewal with Ducati

Team boss Gino Borsoi has confirmed they are close to signing a deal with Ducati, despite also talking with Yamaha.

At Le Mans, Angel Nieto Team boss Gino Borsoi revealed to motogp.com that his team are close to renewing their contract with Ducati.

Alvaro Bautista (Angel Nieto Team) is currently riding a year-old GP17, whilst teammate Karel Abraham is riding a GP16 but should the team re-sign with Ducati, Borsoi hopes his team will be able to use GP18s, the bikes Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team), teammate Jorge Lorenzo and Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) are on board this year.

Borsoi explains how they are "really happy" with the support Ducati give them, whilst also indicating that their aim is to bring a young rider up from Moto2™ to ride alongside an experienced premier class rider, with announcements potentially coming in the next couple of races.
