Wildcard entries for the 250cc SKYY VODKA Grand Prix of Japan

Five Japanese riders will take part as wildcards in the SKYY Grand Prix of Japan. Three of those took part in their first GP in 2000 and the other two have previously made their respective debuts. The oldest is 36 year old Osamu Miyazaki, who made his GP bow at Suzuka in 1992. His best place so far came in Japan in 1995.

Chojun Kameya contested his first Grand Prix at Suzuka in 1997. His best World Championship results have been a fifteenth and a thirteenth. Of the other three, Hiroshi Aoyama is the youngest and will be remembered for his eighth placed finish at Motegi in 2000. Last year he finished thirteenth at Suzuka. Daisaku Sakai and Shinichi Nakatomi also debuted in 2000 at Suzuka. Sakai failed to make the points whilst Nakatomi se came in ninth.
