Children from the Dream Foundation visit the MotoGP paddock in Welkom

Two children from the Dream Foundation, an organisation which looks after children suffering from cancer, visited the Grand Prix circuit in Welkom. The youngsters were Damian Kriedeman, a seven year-old who has leukaemia, who today got the opportunity to realise his dream of getting on board a competition racing bike, and Willem Basson.

Damian, Willem and their families were able to watch the 250cc free practice session from the press box, and then went down to the West Honda Pons team box where they saw the Honda NSR500 bikes close up, whilst being looked after by team members. Following that stop-off, the group appeared before the press corps, then did a couple of laps of the circuit in a safety car, before continuing on to visit some of the other team boxes. The MotoGP riders Capirossi, Barros, Gibernau and McCoy acted as the welcoming committee for the visitors, who quite clearly enjoyed their trip to the scene of Sunday's forthcoming Grand Prix.
