Perfectionist Rolfo rues a chance missed

Roberto Rolfo clinched a valuable fourth place at Africa´s Grand Prix in Welkom last weekend, and in doing so continued his steady start to his first season riding the factory Honda of Fausto Gresini´s 250 team. The Italian´s haul in South Africa lifted him to sixth in the championship table, just 5 points behind joint leaders Battaini and De Puniet.

Last year´s ´Privateer of the Year´ is adapting well to life aboard his factory NSR, and the added pressure that goes with it. However, ever the perfectionist, ´Roby´ wasn´t entirely satisfied with the outcome of Sunday´s race. Having qualified a best-ever third on the grid, the 22 year-old had hoped to secure a first visit to the podium of the season, in the end though he had to content himself with the honour of being the best placed Honda rider.

´I'm not happy with fourth place because I had hoped to do better. My bike wasn't perfect in the race, especially in terms of acceleration. I even had some trouble keeping up with the privateers. At the end of the race when the fuel load had lightened, my bike seemed much faster. I watched some of the guys riding aggressively so I think everybody pushed to the limit. Overall I´m disappointed really, I should have done much better´.
