Carlo Campetella assesses an excellent start for his team

Although the conditions were very different, the first two races of the season have shown that certain riders seem to have hit form, both in qualifying and in the races. Amongst that elite are Campetella team-mates Randy de Puniet and Alex Debon, who in both Suzuka and Welkom have put in performances which have seen them become considered as major protagonists in this season´s field.

Carlo Campetella, Team Owner, spoke exclusively to motograndprix.com about the early season success his outfit have enjoyed. ´I´m very satisfied. The first two rounds have been very difficult because of the weather conditions, and because Suzuka is always a testing circuit. Our riders have shown not only their skill but their adaptability and have scored some very valuable points. We got all the information we gathered from the IRTA tests, and the most important technical work has now been completed. The riders feel very comfortable on the bike, and the team is consolidating and working perfectly.´

´We know that when the arrive at the European races, a lot of riders will rediscover their best form and other competitors will begin to stand out, but the performances of Randy and Alex so far have confirmed to us their potential. Indeed, at Jerez we´ere expecting great things from Debon as he knows the track very well, and De Puniet also likes the Spanish circuits as well.´

When asked about his predictions for the whereabouts of the title this season, Campetella remained cautious, and his words tinged with modesty. ´I can assure you we will be doing our best, but our aim at the moment is just to try and have our riders finish as the best privateer.´
