Aprilia prepare third RS Cube 4 stroke at private tests in Mugello

Aprilia yesterday completed a two day test at the Italian circuit of Mugello, where they have given a debut track appearance to a third RS Cube MotoGP machine. World Championship rider Régis Laconi, entrusted with the development of the revolutionary new 4 stroke motorcycle, spent the day setting the bike to his requirements.

´It was not a conventional test,´ explained a representative from the Noale factory. `The work of the rider and the team was centred around preparing the third motorcycle to the characteristics of Regis, as much in terms of height and seat position as engine settings. The advantages of having a third motorcycle are quite evident. Now we can test between Grand Prix weekends whilst the two main bikes travel from circuit to circuit. We will also be able to make more radical changes to the third bike which should help evolution. It goes without saying that building a motorcycle like this is difficult and expensive, so we believe it to be a major step forward for Aprilia in a year of continuing development and hard work´. $$$

After filming a publicity spot for one of the team´s sponsors, Laconi set off in his motorhome for Jerez. The French rider plans to stop and rest for a few days in France or Spain before the Gran Premio marlboro de España next weekend.
