Suzuki do their tyre homework in tests at Jerez

While other teams packed up and went home on Sunday afternoon after the races in Jerez, several teams stayed on to make the most of the time between now and the next GP in France. Having picked up their first points at the Spanish track this weekend, the Telefonica Movistar Suzuki team was one of those to make the choice to remain. Team manager Garry Taylor remarked,

´Having made the change back to Michelin tyres from Dunlops, obviously we needed to organise some sort of tests to get the bike friendly with the new sets of rubber. This weekend we used last year´s 500 tyres, as obviously production for tyres for the new four-strokes takes some time. So yesterday in Jerez the weather was fine, and both Kenny and Sete were able to get in a full day´s work. We also tried a few new chassis settings and attachments which have been made necessary by the change in tyre provider´.

Taylor went on to add, ´Unfortunately, the rain came in overnight, meaning that there wasn´t a wheel turned throughout today. There were a few more things we would have liked to test, but it´s not so much of a problem. Next week on the way to Le Mans, we will be testing at Michelin´s Clermont-Ferrand circuit, where we will have another chance to plug the bike into the new tyres´.
